Golf Balls: Distance or Control

ORLANDO — Titleist is the category leader in golf balls and touts that it’s also the No. 1 ball on tour, but there are others.

The golf ball is the one product that players everywhere will buy, acquire, find and in all ways procure many times during the course of a season. It is also the least expensive way to introduce something to your bag that can affect performance.

Need some distance, play one of the two-piece balls that can add a few extra yards to your drives. If more control is desired, find a multi-piece ball preferably with a softer cover that will produce more spin.

Focused on Golf

Jesper Parnevik has said enough and is looking to concentrate on golf.

That was the word during practice rounds before the Sony Open, the PGA Tour’s second tournament of 2010. Parnevik made a few headlines for himself in December when he was openly critical of Tiger Woods and the scandal surrounding the world’s No. 1  player.

It was Parnevik, who introduced his then nanny Elin Nordegren to Woods — a match that led to marriage. That hit the rocks when Woods’ alleged multiple affairs came to light following his Thanksgiving night car crash outside his home. Parnevik was quoted later in a Swedish newspaper that he had lost all respect for Woods and regretted introducing the pair.
